What is a Digital Wallet? |
A digital wallet is a virtual version of your physical wallet, allowing you to make payments using your GPO Federal Credit Union debit and credit card without needing the actual card on hand. You can use a digital wallet to pay in stores, apps, or websites with a compatible phone or wearable device.
Benefits of Using a Digital Wallet |
Using your GPO Federal Credit Union debit and credit card with a digital wallet offers several advantages:
- Convenience: No need to carry or pull out your physical card for purchases.
- Security: Transactions are protected by a one-time password or token, ensuring your card number isn’t shared with merchants and making it difficult for fraudsters to access your information.
Are Digital Wallets Safe? |
Yes, digital wallets are secure. They use built-in security features of your device and require authentication, such as a fingerprint, facial recognition, passcode, or PIN, before processing transactions. Digital wallet providers only receive a unique, one-time passcode (token) rather than your full account number. Your card’s last four digits are displayed within the wallet to help manage your cards.
