Honor America Days is typically a week-long celebration, this year it became a month-long celebration, kicked off with the lighting of the Revere Copper Brass sign at Revere Products on July 4. Further festivities include: parades, concerts, and fireworks all designed to bring the community together in a joyous display of “Celebrating Our Heritage.”

Due to the recent tornado that swept through Rome and caused significant damage and disruption in the area, the event was moved to a later date than the planned date of July 27. The severe weather led to power outages, property damage, and posted a threat to the safety of residents. The organizers of the Honor America Days parade decided to move the event to September 7 to ensure the safety and well-being of the community.

GPO started our celebrations by offering a Money & Me: Teen Workshop at our Rome Branch on July 31. This workshop was a great opportunity for teens to understand the importance of goal setting, ways to manage personal spending plans, knowing your credit score and how to build and manage credit. Refreshments were offered to attendees and a chance to win a $100.00 Amazon gift card!

The grand parade kicked off the Sept 7^th celebration down the historic streets of Rome consisted of decorated floats, marching bands, and local organizations showing off their patriotic spirit. GPO was thrilled to participate in the parade, with our staff members proudly marching and engaging with the community. 

Another highlight of Honor America Days is the spectacular fireworks display, which lights up the sky and fills the air with a sense of wonder and excitement.

Our commitment to support local events like Home America Days reflects our dedication to the community we serve, and we were delighted to see the smiles and joy on the faces of attendees.
